BMW still cutting down on work hours

The economic hard times are upon us in its fullest and BMW is no exception from this. BMW officials say that workers in Munich, Berlin and Landshut will continue working reduced hours for the rest of 2009. Workers at Dingolfing will also be affected from November though, because they are still trying to keep up with the demand for the new 5-series GT.

On another topic, sales in the United States have also been glum for the June 2009 period. They have seen a drop of 20.3%, however their market share has increased its market share after the conclusion of the year’s first half, with reports that it may overtake Lexus as the number one luxury vehicle in the U.S.

It seems people are still interested in BMWs though because there was an increase in the purchase of certified pre-owned vehicles.
