Oh Hai, We Are Still Alive
Posted by Bradley Wint on August 25th, 2009 at 3:18 pm

So you may be wondering where the updates are. Well a few things have happened that will put a damper on news for the rest of the week (or maybe 2), it’s not bad news though.
From a personal stand point, I began work in the real world, so my time has been there and I’ve been super tired on evenings, but I am getting accustomed to the new times, so it’s not an issue much.
Secondly, Carthusiast is joining a network of blogs which I have also formed, and I have been doing a lot of work on one of the new sites, so my guess is that I may not be able to update for the week either. Carthusiast itself will also be going through some major design changes to accommodate some few functions such as text ad links, search forms and a threaded comment system.
Time is going to be spent working on the infrastructure first before any new posts are published. In the mean time we are still looking for writers who are interested in writing about the latest stuff in the auto industry, so send in your applications in the Jobs section.
Bradley.

When the designers were making the new 2011 Bentley Mulsanne, they had 3 things in mind: Speed, Size, and Comfort. They wanted to create a car that would stand as the pinnacle of British luxury motoring, and judging by the exterior, it certainly looks the part. It’s large, striking, it shows presence.
Noble M600; First Glance
Posted by Ammaar Mufti on August 22nd, 2009 at 12:23 pm

The first shots of Noble’s new supercar, the M600, were released in UK’s Autocar magazine.
It seems that Noble is very serious with competing with the big boys like Ferrari and Lamborghini, and by just the exterior, you can see; it’s absolutely exquisite. From that aerodynamic front end holding big air intakes like it’s meant for space travel, to those strong, muscular sides and sporty lines, it just captures your gaze. Read the full post »

Aston Martin V12 Vantage Details and Pictures
Posted by Ilia Lou on August 20th, 2009 at 3:58 pm

Aston Martin has made quite a lot of very good looking cars over the years, when the DB9 came out I though it was the best looking car ever made. The new V12 Vantage, is no exception to the Aston Martin line up of great looking cars. It’s profile is absolutely perfect, the swooping curves all around are astonishingly pretty. The added vents on the hood don’t hurt too much either. The point is, it looks like an Aston Martin and that’s always good. The sound isn’t bad either, it’s filled with, calm rage, I suppose is a good way to describe the noise. Absolutely brilliant.

How to Test Drive a Used Car
Posted by Ilia Lou on August 19th, 2009 at 5:17 pm

Used car dealers don’t lie, they just don’t tell you all of the truth. Which is why it’s important for you to find it out for your-self, with a proper test drive. Here are a few things you should remember to do if you’re thinking about buying a used car:
1: Ask for a vehicle history report, do this in the beginning, this will tell you what to look out for while testing the car. For example, if the report says there was a front end collision, you want to concentrate a bit more attention to the front, right? Just to make sure that it was repaired properly and there are no issues.
Mercedes Blue-Zero E-Cell Information
Posted by Ilia Lou on August 19th, 2009 at 4:29 pm

During the Detroit Auto Show in 2009, Mercedes introduced a new concept for the future, called the Mercedes-Benz Blue-Zero E-Cell. It’s not the prettiest car ever, but it’s definitely beneficial to the environment.
The car has the same engine as you get in a Smart ForTwo, a turbocharged 3 cylinder, along with batteries which can power the car for a whole 62 miles. With a full tank of gas and fully charged batteries, the car will go 373 miles before stopping. Like in most hybrids, the batteries can be charged during braking. In the E-Cell however, the engine itself is also used for powering the batteries, and if needed it drives the wheels. You can’t really expect much performance out of this car, but Mercedes say it will go from 0-60 in 11 seconds, which is…well let’s just say it’s a bit faster then what I was expecting.
