Back in July we looked at one of the many renderings of Bugatti’s much anticipated sedan the Royale. In the time since then speculation had gone quiet. That is until a few days ago when the Bugatti Galibier was unveiled ahead of the Frankfurt Auto Show at a private function. Thankfully the concept is far more attractive than previous renderings while maintaining key design elements seen in the photos and more recently the promotional video.

Here is an interesting pic for you all. Airplane manufacturer Sukhoi recently demo-ed their Superjet 100-95 at the MAKS 2009 airshow event. After it landed, it received the royal treatment with a tow back, not by the regular boxcar, but by an Audi Q7 6.0 V12 TDi.

The Audi group was one of the event’s sponsors, and used the opportunity to show off the power of their new diesel SUV by pulling the Russian beauty across the tarmac. Below, we also included a video found on YouTube showing the tug in motion.

Boom Boom Pow! NO2 wheelbarrow with kicking audio system

sounds-xplosive-wheelbarrow-01

I remember making a joke with a friend about a guy on a cart coming into a car show with a ton of speakers and beating some of the competitors in real cars, but I never expected to see something like it.

Now thank to Vijay Pattni and May Starey, something like my joke is now a reality. It’s a wheel barrow with a mega audio system and it also has a Nitrous powered engine 49cc engine. It does about 18mph.

From the entertainment point of view, it features a DVD player and screen, two subwoofer, a bunch of regular speakers and an amp. The little barrow pushed out 170.7 decibels of sound at the Perth Autosalon show last year, taking the Monster Class Award title.

The Sounds Xplosive Audio team spent about £78,000 to develop the tricked out barrow. For more pics, continue reading.

Forza fans should be happy to note that Forza Motorsport 3 has finally gone gold. This simply means that the final game build has been produced and is in a ready state for sale. If that doesn’t make sense still, just imagine going into Turn10’s studio, stealing the gold version and then playing it. It would be the same version as the ones that go on sale later on. heh.

Along with this news, comes more information that a demo will be made available on Xbox Live on September 24th. It will include the Camino Viejo race track and 5 super smoking cars including the 2009 Mini John Cooper, 2010 Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro Works, 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR, 2009 Ferrari California and the 2007 Porsche #80 Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR.

Lambo Murcielago driver killed in fatal accident

lamborghini-murcielago-crash

Even though this really isn’t news per se, it’s just another note on why alcohol and driving don’t mix well, especially when you’re driving a high speed super car.

According to Autogespot and other comments, the driver of the car was involved in arranging illegal racing events at champagne bars. Seems he may have been racing some of his friends, because other pics show a wrecked Merc further down. Seems the Lambo driver was doing over 320kph and entered a corner, causing him to lose control. The car hit the Mercedes. It then hit a concrete curb, flipped in the air and landed on its roof, throwing the driver out of the vehicle.

He was rushed to hospital where he died 2 hours later. The races took place at 6 in the morning on the clear streets in Belgium.

There are closed tracks for this guys? I’m pretty sure you can pay for it…

Acer has once again jumped on the Ferrari wagon by producing yet another notebook based on the car brand. On the top we see the Ferrari badge in the center, while the rest of it is painted in the racing ‘red color’ scheme. On the opposite side, there is a carbon-fiber replica scheme, to give that full effect seen on the real car. When you open it up, you are greeted with an all black layout (white key labels of course), as well as the Ferrari logo slapped on to the right bottom side just below the keys.

Specs-wise, it features what most other decent small laptops today offer including a dual-core AMD Athlon X2 L310 1.2GHz CPU, GB of 800MHz DDR 2 RAM and an 11 inch screen with a ATI Radeon HD 3200 GPU that can do 1366 x 768. There are also some default features such as a 250GB Hard Drive, multi-format memory card reader and 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support. There is also the 6-Cell battery unit. According to Acer, it can last 5 hours of continuous work.

It goes on sale from October 22nd.

If you are into simulation racing, or any racing as a matter, you may have heard of a control developer called Thrustmaster. They develop a variety of video game controllers for a wide range of gaming platforms. In the driving /racing game world, the Ferrari themed racing wheels are what they are well known for.

Now they have come up with the Ferrari licensed Ferrari Wireless Gamepad 430 Scuderia and the F1 Wireless Gamepad Ferrari F60 for the PS3 and PC. They both run for $49.99 and feature paint schemes from the real racing machines. There is also a wired version for $39.99. Pick these up some time in October when they are released.

2011 McLaren MP4-12C pictures and details

Posted by Bradley Wint on September 12th, 2009 at 9:00 am

mclaren-mp4-12c-01

The details are finally rolling in about McLaren’s new P11 roadcar, called the 2011 MP4-12C. Looking at its design, we can clearly see that they have gone back to their roots, integrating a lot of the design features from the 90s road car, with the obvious touch of today’s concepts.

This new supercar features a lot of top-end technology and design innovations such as the extensive use of carbon fiber and a one-piece structure called the Carbon Monocell. This tub-structure is surrounded by aluminium and plastic body parts, making it quite a light car. The tub itself also weighs in at just 80kg, making it so light that a regular aluminium type brake set is used instead of ceramic ones, saving an extra 8kg.

Even though there are no official stats on the car’s performance, the McLaren made (no BMW, no Mercedes engine) M838T 3.8 V8 engine chugs out over 600bhp and does 443 lb ft of torque. The 90 degree mounted engine pushes the car from 0-60 in the range of 3 and something seconds. On the environmental side, there are even petrol and diesel hybrid versions, and they also boast of the high ratio (the market’s highest thus far) of horsepower to CO2 emissions (300g/km).

With power being focused on the lower end of the rev chart (below 2000rpm), its acceleration is crazy fast, and on the overall, it can do over 200mph quite easily. There are also the line of techno controls such as Brake Steer feature which kills out a significant amount of understeer by braking the inside of the rear tires.

So what’s the price tag? About £125,000-£175,000. Quite expensive…but people are going to buy it anyway. Now here’s the very long press release.
